9th BIENNIAL DE LA HABANA

The Havana Biennial was founded in 1984 and it receives artists from Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, which transformed the biennial into an important event for the recognition and exposure of non-western art. All participants are chosen according to certain parameters, such as the concept for the theme of reflection. In 2006, in its 9th edition and with exhibitions on themes that also embraced Cuba-Brazil, around 130 artists from over 50 countries presented their work and projects in historical and modern buildings.
